Jones County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of 2000, the population was 10,381. Its county seat is Trenton.
History
The county was formed in 1779. It was named for Willie Jones, a Revolutionary leader and president of the North Carolina Council of Safety; he was later the state's chief opponent of ratification of the United States Constitution.
